Another year is in the books, the numbers are in and the bottom of the market may be behind us.
In 2010 there were 1086 homes and condos sold in Traverse City and Grand Traverse County.
That is a 2.7% increase over 2009 and the first back to back years with an increase in sales since 2005.
2009 showed a 4.6 increase of sales over 2008 but nearly a 3% decrease in the average sales price.
What is interesting about 2010 is that not only did sales increase by 2.7% over 2009, but the average sales price increased 7.2%.
There are 124 pending deals to start the 2011.
Another interesting stat is that there were 136 vacant lots and land sold in 2010 which is a 30% increase in sales over 2009.
I hope that means more builders will be back to work.
